CRI results confirm KCA/NZ’s emphasis on sustainability
20 May 2008
Results of the national Corporate Responsibility Index have once again confirmed that Kimberly-Clark Australia & New Zealand places great emphasis and care on environmental and social sustainability.
In its first full entry to the Index after entering in two modules as a pilot in 2006, Kimberly-Clark Australia performed particularly well in the areas of community, environment, marketplace and the workplace.
“We scored an overall 86% which gives us a Silver result overall, we scored well in all areas with Gold for Workplace and Silver for Environment management, Marketplace and Community performance,” says General Manager – Corporate Services, Ross Hearne.
The official CRI report particularly noted KCA’s Community Care program, its Sustainability policy which encompasses its Zero Waste Policy and its Fibre Procurement, as well as the company’s implementation of an Employee Health and Wellness program in conjunction with Australian Health Management (AHM).
“We are taking a strategic approach to sustainability, not only in the way we apply it to our everyday work, but in the way we measure and manage it,” says Ross Hearne.
About the Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI)
The Corporate Responsibility Index is the only voluntary non-prescriptive framework for corporate responsibility in Australia and New Zealand, enabling companies to develop and improve corporate responsibility in line with their business strategy.
Participation in the Index is on a voluntary basis and involves companies undertaking a rigorous self assessment process of how they incorporate principles of corporate responsibility throughout their business operations.
