Kimberly-Clark: Twice named the most sustainable personal care company
20 October 2006
For the second year running Kimberly-Clark leads all other personal care companies in terms of sustainability, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World).
Dow Jones has ranked Kimberly-Clark in first place amongst personal care companies in recognition of our commitment to sustainability and good corporate citizenship.
Senior vice president and Chief Innovation Officer, Cheryl Perkins, said Kimberly-Clark views sustainability as a critical component of doing business.
“We continue to make important progress in improving the sustainability of our products and processes. Our focus is on reducing environmental impacts and costs as we strengthen our brand performance and fulfil our commitment as an environmentally diligent and socially responsible corporate citizen,” says Perkins.
The DJSI tracks the performance of the world’s leading 250 sustainability-driven companies. This year 14 of the world’s largest personal care companies were selected to participate.
Against this field Kimberly-Clark earned the highest scores in the personal care category across a number of selection criteria including risk and crisis management, codes of conduct and compliance, strategy for emerging markets, environmental performance, environmental policy and management, product impact, and corporate philanthropy and citizenship.
