Kimberly-Clark NZ wins Employer of Choice Award
18 October 2006
Kimberly-Clark New Zealand has achieved its goal of winning the Brookfield Lawyers Employer of Choice category at the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards for 2006.
According to General Manager KCNZ, Linda Watts, the achievement of receiving this award is the culmination of a three year effort towards this public recognition that KCNZ is a great place to work.
“The aim foremost in our mind is to be a ‘leading edge place to work’. The KCNZ team has undertaken many activities over the past three years to be recognised as such,” says Watts.
“We need to be able to attract and maintain staff, even during New Zealand’s current period of record low unemployment.
“Our staff have benefited from many of our employee programs, such as training, generous superannuation, personal development, as well as employee and family assistance. We have also involved more of the team in our key business processes, including 5 year strategic planning and budgets, and ensured that we listen and communicate better at all levels.
“When we surveyed our staff in July 2006, 100% responded that KCNZ is one of the best companies to work for. We are incredibly proud of this result,” says Watts.
The Employer of Choice Award forms part of the Westpac Business Excellence Awards and is judged by a combination of a written submission and then judging of the workplace by a panel of judges.
“The criteria we worked to in our entry submission were KCNZ’s well adopted company values, our stimulating and supportive workplace and our active development of our employees. We also emphasised that we view our human resources as critical to achieving our commercial success,” adds Watts.
We congratulate Kimberly-Clark New Zealand on winning this award.
