Surgical gowns

Kimberly-Clark® surgical gowns

Provide exceptional barrier protection with the comfort you need.

Our surgical gowns are manufactured from polypropylene, a non-woven fabric with the benefits of low linting, ignition resistance and protection from airborne and blood borne bacteria.

Our range of gowns allows you to tailor the appropriate level of protection according to the level of exposure to blood and body fluids that is anticipated with the surgical procedure.

It is up to the Operating Room staff to select the appropriate gown to meet the desired level of protection and this is generally based on trial and in-use experience.

The guide below provides a starting point for identifying the optimum gown selection for your Operating Room.

  • Light to moderate exposure: Evolution* 4 or Ultra surgical gowns
  • Moderate to High: Evolution* 4, Ultra surgical gown; Ultra fabric reinforced
  • Extended procedures with High exposure: Ultra Zoned Impervious, Ultra Impervious or MicroCool® Breathable Impervious surgical gowns.
    • Kimberly-Clark surgical gowns are designed to remain comfortable throughout the procedure. The fabric is light and breathable.

For surgical procedures requiring impervious protection, Kimberly-Clark has introduced the MicroCool® gown which incorporates a breathable impervious film to permit evaporation of sweat and filters out bacteria to a particle size smaller than Hepatitis C.

The gowns are generously cut to allow a range of movement around the shoulders and our impervious gowns are also offered in the “A” line style to so they remain comfortable when used by surgeons operating whilst seated.

The neck closure system offers two or three adjustments depending on the style and uses easy snap closures that are gentle against the skin.

In the interest of electrical safety, all our gowns have anti static properties so they remain static dissipative throughout their lifespan.

MicroCool® gowns use our advanced microporous fabric technology to ensure breathable comfort and impervious protection. Please see our technology section for more details

Our selection of surgical gowns is available in the single sterile presentation and they can be included in a range of Kimberly-Clark sterile packs. The full gown selection is also available in the bulk non-sterile format for inclusion in custom procedure trays.

Kimberly-Clark is pleased to work closely with a custom procedure tray manufacture of your choice to ensure inclusion of your preferred gown selection in each pack.
