Kimberly-Clark Health Care presents at PENSMA in Malaysia

02 May 2011

Kimberly-Clark Health Care partnered with the Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition Society of Malaysia (PENSMA) for the second year to sponsor an educational workshop that focused on feeding tube placement and the improvement of patient outcomes. Following the success of last year, PENSMA invited Kimberly-Clark Health Care to attend and present at the 2011 PENSMA Enteral Nutrition Workshop held recently in Alor Setar in Malaysia.

To ensure that the 209 attending enteral nutrition delegates were familiar with K-C’s range of enteral feeding tubes and accessories, Senior Product Manager Andrea Baldwin, Regional Devices Specialist Amy Mui and Account Manager Health Care WanKoon Pie led a breakout session during the workshop. PENSMA recognises that Kimberly-Clark Health Care can aid in the change of clinical practice in Malaysia to a system that increases patient benefits.

President of PENSMA, Professor Sanjiv Mahadeva said “The meeting could not have occurred without your [Kimberly-Clark Health Care’s] support”.

Workshop attendees also listened to presentations from well-known physicians who explored a variety of possible procedures that can be used to place gastric feeding tubes in a patient. These included surgery, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and endoscopic procedures. The delegates were also given a lesson on how to care for the feeding tubes, and offered some troubleshooting techniques.
