Kimberly-Clark Health Care launches educational DVD with GENCA
21 March 2011
K-C Health Care has worked closely with Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) to produce an educational DVD that will act as a resource for Gastroenterological Nurses across Australia. It was launched last week in Melbourne to 165 delegates, mostly Senior Gastroenterology Nurses, at the National GENCA Conference where it received much positive feedback.
The DVD details Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube insertion and replacement. PEG tubes are inserted through the skin via an endoscope to reach the stomach, providing a simple and safe way for food and fluids to reach people who are unable to independently manage sufficient oral intake, which may be due to medical conditions or surgical interventions.
The team at GENCA have voiced their high expectations for the DVD. A competition to win a copy of the PEG Insertion and Replacement DVD received entries from over fifty delegates, which shows that there has been a need for this type of resource.
The DVD is available now to hospitals, aged care facilities and community nursing agencies to buy through GENCA for $80 online at www.genca.org.au
